Mego's latest one-week Topps exclusives are TNG Worf and the Borg Queen

Mego's releases of action figures via Topps has returned to Star Trek once more this week, with two TNG characters available to order; Worf and the Borg Queen. Continue below to check them out, plus some other Mego-Trek updates.

For a few weeks now Mego have been offering up exclusive action figures via Topps, each week two new characters are available to pre-order for one week only, and so long as enough orders come in, they subsequently go into production and should arrive a few months later. With this week's TNG selection, fully half of the figures so far offered have been Star Trek releases! With TOS and DS9 characters offered previously, so far Star Trek characters have been coming every other week!

For the TNG assortment we have TV-era Worf, who has been quite splendidly rendered in the Mego style:

Once more Mego surprise me by offering a really major character via this time limited release. Mego have starting to build up the TNG crew via their general retail releases, with Captain Picard(ad), Data(ad), and Commander Riker(ad) so far available, and Geordi La Forge(ad) coming soon. But if you want the whole crew, it looks like you're going to have to get your orders in pretty quick to not miss Worf. I wonder if variants of the character might be offered later to allow those who miss this limited window now to fill out their crew?

The second character feels more at home being a more limited release, the Borg Queen. While Worf seems like a fairly accurate recreation by Mego standards, this Borg Queen is definitely more stylised, almost seeming to evoke the classic 70s Mego Aliens figures(ad) which weren't all exactly hyper accurate. Mego's product description puts that more euphemistically, with an amusingly selected quote seeming to reflect on their on description!
Mego has journeyed to the far reaches of the Delta Quadrant to bring back the all-new 8” classically styled Borg Queen action figure The Borg Queen comes with sculpting and details inspired by her appearances in the Star Trek franchise. “Brave words. I've heard them before, from thousands of species across thousands of worlds, since long before you were created. But now they are all Borg.”

It should be noted though, all the figures offered via Topps are prototypes, and subject to change before they go into final production. But here's the Borg Queen as we see her now:

Mego Museum released a diorama photo of the figure, which looks pretty good with some dramtic lighting!

UPDATE: Mego have released a couple more of these photos:

In other Mego Star Trek updates, the company recently shared this behind the scenes photo from the factory on their social media, giving us our first look at the new Captain Kirk figure(ad) due out in a few month's time, alongside a new Spock(ad).

The new Kirk will feature a brand new head sculpt, which we can get a better look at thanks to a member of the Mego team who shared a photo on the Mego Ambassadors Facebook group. Looking much more Kirk-like than the classic Mego Kirk head!
