Eaglemoss: Hero Collector have recently announced several new starships in their various Star Trek starship model collections, including more ships from Picard and Star Trek Online, their latest XL sized release, plus full details of what you'll find inside the Borg Cube advent calendar. The latest model in the line of bonus releases from the original Star Trek: The Official Starships Collection is the latest in the sub-series of models based on concept art designs(ad). In this case an early alternate look for what would become the USS Defiant(ad) by James Martin, which as seen on this new model was first known as the USS Valiant. Looks like a neat model!
The bonus series are at the same small scale of the original
Starships Collection. This issue is currently available for pre-order, and expected to ship in September.
At a bigger scale, the
Star Trek Universe collection(ad) will include ships from all the currently in production live action series, although so far has focused only on
Picard for the first few issues.
TrekCore shared the first images of the latest reveal in that series, issue eight, the "Romulan Flagship", which is surprisingly golden! This is due out in October.
Eaglemoss have also now released an extra image of issue seven's
Wallenberg class tug(ad), showing the unusually shaped and coloured Starfleet ship from the side:
The
Universe collection also recently got it's first special, but not an extra ship, rather a print. "USS Discovery NCC-1031-A" is by
Discovery concept artist by Ryan Dening, and was offered so far only to subscribers of the
Universe series. Eaglemoss only released a tiny thumbnail preview before, but Memory Alpha archivist Darth Duranium has now sourced a
higher res copy of the image, so we can get a better look at the attractive artwork. It's not yet known if this will be offered to non-subscribers.
Another newly revealed ship is the latest XL model, issue twenty-eight in the series of extra big ships will be the Oberth class, specifically the
USS Pegasus(ad) - This gives a little variety from the previous smaller release of the ship (one of the best models in the series in my opinion), which was the original Oberth class, the
USS Grissom(ad). The new bigger model, expected in October, looks great!
Finally we have an update on the
Borg Cube advent calendar(ad). Eaglemoss have now released another preview image, revealing a couple more of the items you'll find inside. But they have also released a full contents list.
