Book bits: New covers for ABC book, comic, and notebooks, plus audio excerpt

A few books updates today, including some new covers, new releases, and previews, from forthcoming Star Trek children's books, audiobooks, comics, and stationary. Continue below to check them all out:

First up, the latest from the Little Golden Book Star Trek range, a fantastic new cover for the Star Trek Alphabet Book:

The book illustrated by Ethen Beavers is due out in July. Here's a reminder of the blurb:
Captain Picard, Mr. Spock, and your Star Trek favorites from A to Z star in an out-of-this-world Little Golden Book!

A is for alien, B is for Borg, and C is for communicator. Now even the youngest Star Trek fans can go boldly into the universe as they learn Earth's alphabet! Explore the worlds of Star Trek, The Next Generation, Deep Space 9, and Discovery while learning the ABCs in this Little Golden Book--perfect for boys and girls 2 to 5, as well as fans and collectors of all ages.

On a rather darker note, here's a new book, and a new cover, the Star Trek: The Next Generation - Mirror Universe Collection from IDW. This collects their three TNG mirror universe comic series in one ginormous (392-page) omnibus:

The cover uses several different characters portraits by George Caltsoudas, which individually were covers for IDW's first TNG mirror universe series, Mirror Broken. Due out in November, here's the blurb:
Go into the alternate "Mirror, Mirror" universe to meet the cold-blooded crew of the I.S.S. Enterprise, and their captain, the ruthless Jean-Luc Picard in this collection of three graphic novels!

Space... The final frontier. These are the voyages of the I.S.S. Enterprise. Its continuing mission: to conquer strange new worlds, to enslave new life and new civilizations... To boldly go where no one has gone before! In the other-dimensional Mirror Universe there is no United Federation of Planets, only a cruel Terran Empire, where advancement comes through assassination, brutality is commonplace, and kindness is a weakness.

In Mirror Broken, the Terran Empire is on its last legs in its war with the Klingon-Cardassian Alliance, but Captain Jean-Luc Picard has learned of a final chance for victory: a revolutionary new Galaxy-class starship that could turn the tide of the war. The ship is called Enterprise--and Picard intends to take it.

In Through The Mirror, when the Enterprise-D discovers a burned-out, pillaged Andorian vessel, the search for the culprits leads to some startlingly familiar faces. But, how did the Mirror Universe crew find their way to ours, and what does Emperor Spock have to do with it? Plus, it's interstellar espionage aboard the Enterprise-D when the Mirror Universe crew infiltrates Captain Picard's ship!

And in Terra Incognita, the Enterprise crew returns to business as usual, little realizing the serpent in their midst--one of their own has been replaced! Six stories focusing on fan-favorite crew members of the Enterprise-D--including Deanna Troi, Wesley Crusher, and Selar--each connected by the machinations of this sinister doppelganger.

The latest Star Trek prose release is the Picard tie in The Last Best Hope, by Una McCormack. Like all Star Trek novels recently, this had a simultaneous audiobook releases, read by Robert Petkoff. Simon and Schuster Audio have now released an excerpt:

Finally, some non-content books care of The Coop, who have some Star Trek notebooks. Offered are two three-packs of unlined softcover journals, both just released. This first set is Discovery themed, with books styled after Section 31, the USS Discovery, and the United Federation of Planets:

Or for a rather brighter option, there's a TOS pack, based on the uniforms of the three Starfleet departments:
