Review: Star Trek Select Borg action figure
Diamond Select Toys have just released the latest character in their Star Trek Select range of action figures; a Borg drone. Being a generic alien rather than a specific major character, this is a bit of a change for the range. The format is also a little different, a fully articulated figure, rather than the more sculptural style featured in most of the previous releases, and a lot of modular components instead of the scene setting props that most of the other characters in the range have come with. Does this new approach make for an appealing action figure? Continue below to find out...

First Star Trek: Picard trailer and artwork
CBS have released the first teaser trailer for Picard, and it gives me tingles of anticipation:
UPDATE: CBS in their infinitely irritating wisdom have belated geoblocked the original upload, so I've embedded the more accessible one from Canada's Space above instead! You can watch the US version here.
The rescue armada of fifteen years ago surely has to be the Romulan survivors of the Hobus supernova right? But what awful thing happened next? This certainly gives us something to speculate wildly about for a few months!
CBS have also released new artwork, a cute wineyard version of the Starfleet delta. Here's the artwork and assorted international variants:

The Q Conflict #4 preview
Out this week is the fourth issue of The Q Conflict, IDW's big multi-series crossover events. With the series passing the halfway point the conflict is on the rise, with the introduction of the Prophets this issue upping the ante!
The series is written by Scott and David Tipton, but art credits switch up for this issue, with Silvia Califano now pencilling, and Elisabetta D’Amico on inks. Once more David Messina provides diptych A and B covers (this time coloured by Alessandra Alexakis), this time featuring the interior of the wormhole (which works nice when connected, but is quite abstract with only one half). George Caltsoudas's series of retail incentive covers continues too, with a particularly striking image centered on a Vulcan goddess!

New Picard series is called... Star Trek: Picard
In the twistiest of twisty twists, CBS have revealed the new Jean-Luc Picard series will be titled, Star Trek: Picard - Which feels, just right.
The news was announced at the CBS upfront presentation for advertisers in New York City, along with a title card, and a short clip. Continue below for more details.
Here's an animated version of the title. I find it curious they are using the TOS font (rather than drawing on the TNG TV or movie styles) for the Star Trek part; I wonder if that will continue across all the new series to give some sort of brand consistency.

New Star Trek Pride clothing
The Star Trek Shop has launched a new collection of Star Trek themed Pride clothing, combining the LGBT rainbow flag with various Star Trek icons and slogans, sometimes with great effect. Continue below to check them out:
The most effective of the bunch is I think the "Boldly Go" T-shirt, adding a new layer of meaning to the classic Trek catchphrase:

USS Enterprise-A found in yard sale
A giant model of the USS Enterprise-A turned up at a yard sale in Toronto, Canada this week! It was spotted by several social media users who captured some slightly surreal images of the stranded starship among trees on a lawn.
The ship, which was apparently previously displayed in a local cinema, was briskly purchased by one of those local passers-by, Bill Doern, who whisked it away to spacedock for repairs (in a trailer).
Bill has set up a Facebook page so you can follow his work on the model and see where it ends up. Continue after the jump for a few more images of this delightful find:

Mego's new variant wave includes glow-in-the-dark Gorn!
Mego's next wave of retro action figures include three Star Trek characters. Alas they are all variants of previously released figures, but they're at least having some fun, particularly with the new version of the Gorn figure which now features glow in the dark teeth, eyes, and spines! Check it out:
The other variants in this range are, Kirk and Spock, each coming with a gaggle of tribbles as new accessories. Images come via distributor License 2 Play, and the set of three characters is available to pre-order from Entertainment Earth, who are currently anticipating a July release.

Star Trek Cats now coming as statues
Star Trek Cats, which started life as a book, illustrated by Jenny Parks, back in 2017, has spawned all manner of merchandise since its inception, including calendars, apparel, and even postage stamps! Now the cats are entering the third dimension, with a new range of Star Trek Cats statues from Chronicle Collectibles.
The initial range consists of three TOS characters in cat form, Captain Kirk, Spock, and Scotty. All are made from polystone, and are limited editions (although the quantities have not been revealed). Continue below for full details and lots of images of each of them:
Cat Captain Kirk is the most impressive of the bunch, coming complete with a captain's chair replica. It appears the cat is a separate element in this ensemble, giving you some flexibility in how both the cat and the chair are displayed. At 1:9 scale the piece measures 7.5 inches tall, 7 inches wide and 5 inches deep.

Facepalming Picard bust returns, in bronze!
Last year Icon Heroes brought to life the popular Captain Picard facepalming meme in the form of a bust-paperweight. The ThinkGeek exclusive edition of 1602 life-like painted busts sold out in short order - But if you missed out, frustrated Picard is back, now offered in bronze, and there's 6000 of him this time!
Once again he's a ThinkGeek exclusive, and made from resin, with a bronze finish, including a patina highlighting the details. Available now, the bust is six inches tall. Icon Heroes have sent me a nice set of high res images, so continue below for a closer look:
