Perhaps this year's most unique calendar is 2020 16 Month Engagement Calendar. This format has seen a fresh new look every year for several years now, and this year they have got quite creative with a fully bilingual Klingon calendar! As you can see from the preview pages below, not only have they translated absolutely everything, but they've also gone to town with Klingon design inspired by the unique triangular based monitor designs often seen used by Klingons. The description also suggests this will encompass Klingons from all the live action TV series.
For the first time in Klingon and English, Star Trek 16-Month Klingon Engagement Calendar for 2020 features full-color photos from every live action Star Trek television show.
With text in both Klingon and English, and featuring more than 40 fan-favorite images from across the franchise's six live action television shows, this 16-month engagement-style calendar will captivate casual fans and die-hard Trekkers alike.
The Daily Calendar is getting a significant upgrade for 2020, with full colour images on each day instead of the rather less visually engaging selection of quotes used in previous years.
For the first time in full color, the Star Trek Daily 2020 Day-to-Day Calendar celebrates the iconic sci-fi franchise with photos and illustrations of characters, tech, and ships from more than five decades of Federation history every day of the year.
Star Trek Daily 2020 Day-to-Day incorporates full-color images from every corner of the ever-expanding Star Trek universe!
For the second year running Juan Ortiz' retro prints are the subject of the poster art calendar. For 2019 they used a selection of his TOS designs, and for 2020 they've moved on to sample his TNG collection.
The Star Trek 2020 Poster Calendar: The Next Generation Posters by Juan Ortiz features 12 ready-to-frame retro pop artwork inspired by episodes from Star Trek The Original Series by fan favorite Juan Ortiz.
This collectible calendar features artwork that celebrates episodes from the sci-fi epic's first three seasons. All pages are perforated top and bottom for easy removal and framing!
The eternal TOS calendar of course returns for 2020 with it's usual selection of stills from the show. I'm delighted to see the Gorn selected for the front cover!
From the "#1 cult television series of all time" (TV Guide), Star Trek 2020 Wall Calendar: The Original Series features full-color photos of the entire original bridge crew of the U.S.S. Enterprise, including Captain James T. Kirk (William Shatner), First Officer Mr. Spock (Leonard Nimoy), Dr. Leonard McCoy (DeForest Kelley), Lieutenant Sulu (George Takei), Lieutenant Uhura (Nichelle Nichols), Ensign Chekov (Walter Koenig), and Chief Engineer Montgomery Scott (James Doohan).
And a more recent addition to the range, for the second year we have a Discovery calendar, featuring lots of season two promo photos of course.
Based on the new hit series streaming on CBSAllAccess, this collectible Star Trek Discovery 2020 Wall Calendar celebrates the first season of Star Trek Discovery.
Star Trek Discovery, the newest addition to the fabled Star Trek legacy, boldly introduced new characters, conflicts, and adventures. Star Trek Discovery 2020 Wall Calendar will feature the cast and images from the first season.
Last but not least, my calendar of choice is the ship-tastic Ships of the Line. Alas while I'm fairly sure the other calendars above represent probably final looks for each design (as they all sport new artwork), the 2020 Ships of the Line calendar is currently being promoted with stand-in art (reusing the 2007 cover, and a mix of 2019 and 2016 images on the back cover) - This isn't unusual at this time of year, and I'm sure an exciting crop of new images will be revealed soon enough.
The 2020 edition of this fan-favorite HORIZONTALLY-formatted calendar, the Star Trek Ships of the Line 2020 Wall Calendar is dedicated to showcasing spectacular images of the most famous vessels from the iconic franchise in a variety of iconic scenes and settings.
The panoramic calendar opens horizontally to maximize the detail and drama of each stunning piece of Star Trek art.
In fact we can get a look at one image from the 2020 calendar thanks to artist Bill Krause, who shared his work with the Star Trek: The Art of Miniatures, Props, Actors, Writers and Composers Facebook group. Like his previous work in the series, this features a physical miniature - The Starfleet shuttle (Sheckleton of the USS Endurance), the location, and a couple of the figures are real, the other shuttle and sky are digital.
In fact Krause has been showing off the featured miniature all over social media, including noting he's up for selling it to a loving new home. Here's just a small selection of the images he's shared:
Aside from the US calendars from Universe, Heye are set to return to Star Trek in 2020 (after failing to delivery anything for 2019!), with two options for German readers. They have their own regular TOS calendar, or Broschurkalender, previewed in its entirely by Weltbild:
And then there's also a smaller Postkartenkalender, also TOS themed. Both designs have gone a little crazy with the captioning!
For the last few years Danilo have also released a range of calendars in the UK, although these are typically announced much later in the year - So look out for those in future, plus more details of the final Ships of the Line designs, when proper previews are released.
