Discovery season 2 open titles, clip, new images, and more

With just a couple of days left until the new season of Discovery begins there's plenty coming out of the CBS PR machine, including new clips and photos which you can see below.

But first, let's check out the new opening titles for the season, which have been tweaked to reference some of the main icons of the season (originally posted on the Discovery Twitter, but via a non-geolocked youtube here):

So newly added are a captain's chair, which looks a lot like the original TOS Enterprise version (the titles past and present do include images of TOS props rather than Disco ones, so this might not be indicative of the design of the Disco-Enterprise bridge):

The season's mystery, the red angel, is also added:

The Vulcan hand sign was in the original credits, but now has an IDIC emblem in the palm:

There's a Disco insignia, with a nice stain effect to turn it into a black Section 31 badge:

And then a trio of the new Enterprise-type insignias on a transporter pad:

A couple of new stills have also been released, via a Studio@Gizmodo article (which add a rather curious colourful planets overlay). They include a good look at Georgiou on the Section 31 set (presumably), and an image of Spock and Burnham together:

Sonequa Martin-Green appeared on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert this week, which also aired a clip from the first episode, which we've seen quite a lot of already via the trailers, but this gives rather more context. You can see it along with Martin-Green interview below:

The Discovery Instagram has been continuing with their character-focus countdown videos. With the latest featuring Pike and Spock:

And finally for today, TrekCore uncovered this fun bit of promo, a metro-train sporting the season two poster art:
