Gentle Giant reveal their amazing Discovery statues

Gentle Giant are set to release a pair of most impressive 1/8th scale Discovery statues, taken from the very start of the series and featuring two of the most impressive costume designs from the entire season: Michael Burnham, in her long-haul space-suit, and the Klingon Torchbearer. Both are of course based on original production assets, with the Torchbearer in particular coming from work Gentle Giant themselves did making the real costume.

These are expected to ship in the second quarter of 2019, and are both now available for pre-order -Which means Gentle Giant have released a whole load of images, showing off the truly incredible level of detail these offer. Continue below to check them out:

The Torchbearer is a slightly higher price point, coming in at $199 compared to Burnham's $185, presumably because it's a bit bigger and has so much going on all over it, including a bat'leth and mek'leth.

These two were first announced back at the San Diego Comic Con, where Gentle Giant also revealed they plan to release a full size replica of the Torchbearer's mek'leth, and a pair of Discovery insignia bookends. Comic Con also saw the initial release of their first Discovery product, a Saru bust.

Additionally earlier in the year Gentle Giant have also announced the formation of separate toys division, with plans to release a series of small Discovery ship models; the Fleet Flyers range - We're still waiting on details of when those will make it to market though.
