More previews from the Star Trek Shipyards books

A few days ago I shared out first preview pages from Eaglemoss' new Star Trek Shipyards books, and now, thanks to Amazon, we have a whole load more. Crucially these include several pages of the new features added to these books, such as size charts, fleet listings, and artwork - The rest of the books are mainly reusing content published in the magazines from The Official Starships Collection. So continue below to check out the new things these books offer.

There are two books in the series so far, each spanning different eras of Starfleet starships. I'm going to start back to front, because the first spread from the 2294 - The Future book is my favourite!

The books are split into chapters based on era and ship type, and Chapter 3 of this book uses the rather broad heading of Multi-Mission Explorer to cover most of the large ships of the 24th century. Each chapter has a two-page introductory spread, with the amassed fleet of the ships about to be covered, making this chapter a particularly pleasing image as it brings together almost all of the 24th century Starfleet ship classes as never seen before:

Half of the spread from the Fighters chapters has also been previewed:

We can also see two of the new size chart spreads from this book. The Future spread is comically extreme, managing to encompass the tiny Aeon, and the gigantic USS Enterprise J!

And we also have several preview pages from the class listing section, which gives a run-down of the known ships of each class.

The first book in the series covers Earth and Federation ships from 2063-2293. We have similar pages from this book, including two size charts, which notably bring together the Discovery and TOS era ships (although not that much, as most of the Discovery ships have ended up on a spread of their own). This assembled fleet should give us another nice chapter heading image though (alas not yet seen).

This book also has a listing of key historical events in the era is covers.

And more of those class listing pages.

You can actually see quite a lot more of both books on Amazon's previews, as rather a lot of pages are included in their Look Inside feature; the rest are just the reprinted magazine material however, so I'll leave that to you to go and find if so inclined. You can also find even more preview pages in my previous report!

Star Trek Shipyards: Starfleet Ships 2151 - 2293 is due out in September, and is also available packed with a USS Enterprise model. And then Star Trek Shipyards: Starfleet Ships 2294 - The Future follows in November. If these books go well, Eaglemoss are hoping to continue the series with further books exploring ships of other species and regions.
