IDW's September Star Trek comics, including a Transformers crossover

IDW have released their solicitations for September, which include two new Star Trek comics. One of those is something I'm frankly surprised has taken this long to happen, a crossover with one of IDW's biggest other licenses, Transformers! (They sort of indirectly crossover in the Infestation crossover a few years ago, but the two universes didn't actually interact in that instance). The most exciting thing about the crossover is that it's specifically with Star Trek: The Animated Series, so we can look forward to a particularly stylised series, featuring M'Ress and Arex! Continue below for all the details:

Star Trek vs. Transformers #1 (of 4)
Written by John Barber and  Mike Johnson, with art by Philip Murphy
The Transformers ‘80s cartoon series meets Star Trek: The Animated Series in a no-holds-barred Saturday Morning mash-up for the ages!

At the edge of Klingon space, the Starship Enterprise finds there's more to the final frontier than meets the eye, when Kirk and his crew come face to face with the strangest life forms of all: Cybertronians! This unprecedented crossover brings together two of the greatest science fiction universes of all time—in the style of their classic animated series! A five-year mission meets a four-million-year war!
If the aquashuttle doesn't turn out to have been a Transformer all along I'm going to be pretty disappointed!

The book will be available in at least four covers, and they've all been released already! The A and B covers are both by Philip Murphy, and featuring a connecting image, with the A cover featuring the Enterprise crew and their Transformer friends, and the B cover featuring the Klingons (one of them a cyborg!) and the Decepticons.

There are two retail incentive covers, a lovely pink feline themed cover by Paulina Ganucheau, featuring M'Ress and Ravage (which you can see without titles on the artist's Twitter), and a play on the classic TAS promo art, with added Optimus Prime, by Derek Charm.

Also out in September...

Terra Incognita #3
Written by Scott and David Tipton, with art by Angel Hernandez
On the heels of the blockbuster THROUGH THE MIRROR miniseries comes a brand-new NEXT GENERATION series, featuring untold tales of Captain Jean-Luc Picard and the crew of the U.S.S. Enterprise-D! With a high-ranking Federation official’s life hanging in the balance, Doctor Selar faces a difficult decision when she must choose between her responsibility as a physician and her adherence to Vulcan philosophy.
There are four covers for this one too, and all but the photo B cover have been revealed. The artists have assembled a diverse selection of characters to focus on, with the Tony Shasteen A cover featuring Geordi urgently accompanying Doctors Crusher and Selar. Elizabeth Beals' retail incentive cove features Worf and Riker engaging in a bit of mok'bara training, and J.K. Woodward's retail incentive focuses on Selar and the Vulcans.

IDW have now released the photo cover for Terra Incognita #1 (due out in July). It's not your typical photo-cover though, it's a sort of hybrid, featuring a set photo of the Enterprise-D bridge, but using a photo-realistic illustration of Picard (from a series of such illustrations CBS use for all sorts of products) to complete the image:

UPDATE: And here's another new cover, via Amazon, for Discovery: Succession #3 (which should be out in the next couple of weeks), featuring Airiam. I assume this is the Angel Hernandez A cover

Also in this month's solitations, in advance of the October release, is the previous mirror universe miniseries...

Through the Mirror omnibus
Written by Scott and David Tipton, with art by Chris Johnson, Marcus To, Josh Hood, Carlos Nieto, Debora Carita, and J.K. Woodward.
The Mirror Universe Next Generation crew is looking for new worlds to conquer, and they're crossing over to the Prime Star Trek Universe to find them! When the Enterprise-D discovers a burned-out, pillaged Andorian vessel, the search for the culprits behind it leads to some startlingly familiar faces. But, how did the Mirror Universe crew find their way to ours, and what does Emperor Spock have to do with it? Plus, it's interstellar espionage aboard the Enterprise-D when the Mirror Universe crew infiltrates Captain Picard's ship!
There's also an update on a previously solicited omnibus, Amazon's listing for New Visions, Volume 7, which is due out in August, now features a new version of the cover, which has added in sections to illustrated all three stories in the book (rather than the simpler arrangement seen previously which was a slightly different version of what is now the background of the cover).
