The book is written by Kirsten Beyer and Mike Johnson, with art from Tony Shasteen, who also provides the A cover featuring Voq. Three other covers are available, with the B cover being a photo of L'Rel. The remaining covers are retail incentive, with tattoo-esque T'Kuvma design by Aaron Harvey, and the second of Declan Shavley, and Jordie Bellaire (colours)'s ship covers for the series, this time featuring the most appropriate ship to adorn this Klingon series, the Sarcophagus ship.
You can check out all the covers and a five page preview from this issue below, plus a couple of other bits of new from the series.
You can continue reading this story by picking up a copy at your local comic book shop, or from online retailers like these: Amazon, Things From Another World, Forbidden Planet, iTunes. Or if you can wait, the omnibus book for the whole series is available for pre-order; currently expected to arrive in July.
Meanwhile the preview at the end of this issue gives us our first look at Tony Shasteen Kol cover are for the third issue.
And finally also from Shasteen, a glimpse at Discovery with hairier Klingons (even more so than the few partially haired ones seen in this series already):
I started working on Star Trek Discovery in the early days of production before we knew exactly what the characters and Klingons would look like. This was my earliest attempt at @marythechief as L’Rell when I assumed the female Klingons would have a more... traditional look. I was a little off on that guess.
