Anovos have revealed their first Star Trek Discovery prop reproduction, a phaser pistol. Like the uniforms they have already announced, the phaser is a highly accurate reproduction of the original prop - In this case with the exact same 3D printed construction as the hero props on the show. Continue below for all the details and lots of images.
The phaser includes a removable type-one phaser, and power-cell. And it is itself powered (with regular batteries), which are used to light up the stun (blue)/kill (red) indicator on the top of the phaser, and the charge indicator light on the power cell. It also has a rotating barrel, and will come with a display stand (not yet revealed).
For all that you're going to be set back $500(!). Pre-orders are open now, and the first batch of fifty will be shipping in December, with another fifty being produced every other month following to meet ongoing pre-orders.
I believe this is Anovos' first Star Trek prop release. They announced a large and impressive range of prop replicas a couple of years ago which have yet to come to fruition, and Star Trek Beyond phaser last year which was ultimately seems to have been cancelled. Hopefully the short lead time on this one is an indication of their confidence in this particular release!
Alongside this new phaser, Anovos have already announced replica officer and captains uniforms from Discovery. Meanwhile QMx offer recreations of the insignia badges.
If the high end replicas are pushing it a bit for you, McFarlane Toys have announced they will be releasing a phaser too, next year. And fancy dress costumer Rubies also have a Discovery license, but have yet to reveal their range. Meanwhile Trevco have already released a range of sublimation printed shirts featuring a variety of both Starfleet and Klingon uniforms from the show.
