Discovery episode 5 trailer, and episode 4 stills and videos

The trailer for the fifth episode of Discovery, Choose Your Pain, is in the wild - Check it out below, along with a collection of stills and clips from this week's newly released episode, and other updates about the series.



So Lorca gets captured by the Klingons, specifically L'Rell (and presumably Voq):

And we get to meet Harry Mudd; I wonder what he did to get in the Klingons' bad-books?

L'Rell spends some quality time with Lorca.

And I'm guessing is eye condition actually plays a purpose here. How many lights do you see captain?...

Meanwhile on the Discovery...

Burnham and Saru are at odds, again; will Burnham do as she's told and torture the poor tardigrade to rescue Lorca? Will Lorce be the next dead captain of the series? (If so does Captain Saru end up in a permanent state of paranoia about having Burnham about t mutiny n him at every turn?)

A clip from this episode was also played at the PaleyFest festival over the weekend. StarTrek.com gave this description of the scene:

...it featured Shazad Latif as Lt. Ash Tyler, Rainn Wilson as Harry Mudd and Isaacs as Lorca. They’re in a prison cell, having been captured by the Klingons, and Tyler looks worse for wear, having been there several months. Lorca doesn’t much trust Tyler (how is he still alive after so long?) and he takes an instant dislike to Mudd, though the feeling is mutual. “It’s an interesting episode,” Harberts observed. “It’s about torture, about loyalty, and it sows a lot of seeds. It’s one to watch very carefully because it sows seeds for the rest of the season.”

Also this past weekend, many of the actors and production staff from Discovery took part in a panel at the New York Comic Con. During in that showrunner Gretchen Berg spoke about Michelle Yeoh, promising: "You will see more of this woman on the show” - Which of course we did, movingly, in this week's episode. Will we see more of Captain Georgiou as the series unfolds? I remain hopeful!

Other revelations from the panel included that Saru was initially envisioned with ten eyes, the tardigrade was first designed to be part of the Discovery bridge crew, named Ephraim (but was too expensive to have around that much), and the Discovery bridge was going to be on two levels.
