Every month Wizkids release three new ships for their miniatures game Star Trek: Attack Wing, and now and then throw something extra in, like the oversized models of Deep Space 9 and a Borg Cube. This month sees their third big model, the Xindi superweapon, or Weapon Zero as they're calling it. This won't be quite as huge as the previous big models, at about ten centimetres across, it will however by the first ever model of this Star Trek equivalent of the Death Star.
UPDATE: StarTrek.com have now released images of the final product, as well as closer look at all the cards featured in the set. Here it is in the box, and with all the contents, you can read more about the cards on StarTrek.com.
Smaller Xindi ships are also on the way in the most recently announced waves of regular expansion packs, continue below for the details of all those, and previews of the most recent releases in the series.
Due in April is wave twenty-five, which will include the Romulan D7 class IRW Algeron, the Federation type 6 shuttlecraft Einstein, and Klingon Vor'cha class IKS Drovana. All three of these models have previously been released either in Attack Wing, or another Wizkids game, Tactics.
May will bring wave twenty-six, featuring the Xindi Reptilian warship, the Federation Galaxy class USS Venture, and the Borg's Assimilator 84 (aka the odd shaped ship Lore and co. used). The Xindi ship is entirely new (save being offered as play event prize prior to this retail release), and indeed the first ever model of this design.
In June wave twenty-seven will arrive, consisting of the Xindi Aquatic ship Calindra, the Romulan's Valdore-type IRW Jolan Tru, and the Federation Oberth class USS Yosemite. Again the Xindi ship is entirely new, and will be the second model of this design, following the Eaglemoss version that is due out in February (that is if you don't count the play event distribution of the Attack Wing model this year).
Also released previously at Attack Wing play events has been a Xindi Insectoid ship, so I'd not be surprised to see that turn up in the next couple of waves once they get announced.
Meanwhile several new ships have been released in recent months, and Wizkids have released images showing them in packaging, and with all the contents of each pack.
September saw wave nineteen, which includes Species 8472 Bioship Beta, Ferengi shuttle Quark's Treasure, and the Federation's Nebula class USS Phoenix. You can see previews of the cards in each pack on StarTrek.com, here, here, and here.
October brought us wave twenty, featuring the Klingon Bird of Prey IKS Rotarran, the Delta Flyer, and cloaked version of the Romulan ship RIS Talvath. StarTrek.com previewed these packs too; here, here, and here.
Last month brought wave twenty-one, including Federation Constellation class USS Hathaway, the Kazon Raider Halik, and squadron of Romulan (or Reman) Scorpion class fighters. Previews on StarTrek.com, here, here, and here.
Finally, this month's releases, wave twenty-two, are the Jem'Hadar fighter Robinson, the Bajoran Solar Sailor Denorios, and the Cardassian Dreadnought missile. I believe this is the first ever model of the Dreadnought. StarTrek.com has previewed these all too: here, here, and here.
