Comic panels: Q Gambit, Flesh and Stone, City on the Edge, and New Visions previews!

Here's a smorgasbord of Star Trek comics updates and previews, something from all the current titles from IDW in fact. First up, via Tumblr, IDW editor Chris Ryall, posted this exciting two-page spread from the second issue of the The Q Gambit, the DS9 crossover story in the nuTrek ongoing series, which started this month. No text on this yet, just pure Tony Shasteen artwork:

Also posted by Ryall was this page of art, pre and post colouring, by The Sharp Brothers, from this week's medical crossover one-shot, Flesh and Stone (see a five-page preview in my previous report):

Continue after the jump for the latest updates from The City on the Edge of Forever and New Visions:

J.K. Woodward has been tweeting occasional snippets of his artwork in progress from Harlan Ellison's The City on the Edge of Forever, The Original Teleplay. Here is a tricorder, Edith Keeler, and Kirk (I think the tricorder would make a lovely stand-alone piece of art just as it is here):

Finally, some updates from John Byrne, as posted on his forums. He gave the following summary of the recently solicited third issue in the New Visions photo-comic series, Cry Vengeance:
This is the first "split" issue, with a lead story plus a second feature (the robot in the lower right). The lead is the not-quite-sequel to "The Doomsday Machine" I mentioned before. That shot of the Machine, incidentally, is a 3D model I built for this story. Most of the online shots from the various TREK sites were too grainy to use in printed form.
He also noted other issues will also contain a secondary stories. The second issue will have a short tale focusing on Janice Rand. While the fourth issue will include a five-page adventure for Koloth and his crew.
