Of course when there's one tribble, there are always more soon after. QMx are also releasing a tribble this year. They have now added a listing to their website, with new photos of their tribble and the containment unit it will be delivered in. Things From Another World says these will be arriving in August:
In other QMx news, they recently posted the following photo on Facebook, which apparently shows one of the original DS9/Voyager combadge molds, which they are in the process of restoring so they can add that badge to their collection of badge replicas.
The link to "their tribbles" in the first paragraph ... did you mean to point that to a JPG image? I'm guessing that was supposed to be a link to a product page....
ReplyDeleteWhoops! Thanks Brian, fixed that now!
ReplyDeleteI saw the DST tribbles at a TRU a couple of weeks ago. The sound and vibrating gimmicks were nice, and they were much larger than I was expecting them to be. That said, they only had the gray one's, and they seemed a bit overpriced for what they were. Even for the size they were, which honestly, was WAY too big...unless you wanted a TAS tribble.
ReplyDeleteThe QMX tribble looks great, but I was worried it would be even more overpriced for what it is. That said, I'm glad to see it's only ten bucks. I'll definitely be ordering one of them and the flag they're releasing.
I'm even more excited to see the DS9/Voyager combadge. I'm definitely going to get that when it's released. Oddly enough, not because of the association with either DS9 or Voyager, but because it's the combadge Riker would have been wearing when he became Captain of the USS Titan. Riker is one of my favorite Star Trek characters, and the more I read of the Titan books, the more I like him as a Captain.
It's funny, I used to not be a fan of QMX, cause everything they did seemed to be ridiculously expensive. The more I see of what they do, the more affordable stuff I see, the more I like. I feel a little bad for judging them solely off of the large ships they make...
I've got a little collection of tribbles. I quite like that they're a bunch of different sizes. I also have a furry beanbag which looks very much like a TAS giant tribble!
ReplyDeleteAnd yeah, QMx do an impressive job at catering for everyone with their range; very varied in both price and the sort of stuff they make.
Wat... are those Tribbles or Shatner's T J Hooker hair?
