New images of the Star Trek Kre-O sets and packaging

Amazon has added listings for the new Star Trek Kre-O construction sets, with new high resolution images giving us a much better look at the sets, and their packaging, as well as blurbs for the sets, highlighting some of their features (complete with rather odd selection of words in quotation marks). I've chopped it out of each blurb below, but each starts with "Build your own Star Trek adventures with this awesome Kre-O construction set!" and ends with the rather cute "Boldly build what you haven't built before with [insert subject of set here]"

Any new clues about Star Trek Into Darkness here? Maybe, the space dive set mentions a "Federation Special Ops" kreon figure (presumbly the figure that appears to be John Harrison). The transporter set also describes what the set design implies; Scotty having to beam a Klingon away (from where? to where?). The Klingon Bird-of-Prey set might also be giving us a clue, suggesting Kirk and Uhura need to avoid being taken hostage by the Klingons. And of course the USS Enterprise's inclusion of the "specialist" kreon figures, in the alternate Starfleet uniform, remains a bit of an enigma.

There're lots of images, so more sets and information after the jump!

USS Enterprise

Use the 432 pieces to build a U.S.S. Enterprise ship that your 5 Kreon figures can "fly." Lift off the top saucer to put your Captain Kirk, Spock and Dr. McCoy Kreon figures on the bridge! This incredible set features Lighttech technology, so the deflector dish and engines glow for extra-amazing Star Trek action! Open the engine cowlings and fire the ship's missile as it blasts through "outer space."

Klingon Bird of Prey

Use the 236 pieces to build a Klingon Bird-of-Prey ship that your 2 Klingon Kreon figures can "fly." Will your Captain Kirk and Uhura Kreon figures be taken hostage by their Klingon enemies? This incredible set features Lighttech technology, so the ship’s cockpit not only opens but glows for extra-amazing Star Trek action! Position the wings and fire the ship’s missiles as it blasts through "outer space."

Spock's Volcano Mission

Use the 141 pieces to build a volcano and a ship that your Sulu Kreon figure can "fly." The ship’s Lighttech technology makes the cockpit and bottom hatch glow for extra-amazing Star Trek action! The hatch opens and dangles a zipline so your Spock Kreon figure can lower himself into the "erupting" volcano.

Transporter Trouble

Use the 65 pieces to build a transporter for your Scotty Kreon figure to transport your Klingon Kreon figure away. The transporter’s Lighttech technology makes parts of the transporter glow for extra-amazing Star Trek action!

Space Dive

Use the 36 pieces to build a ship for your Federation Special Ops Kreon figure to "fly." The ship’s Lighttech technology makes parts of it glow for extra-amazing Star Trek action! Fire the ship’s missile and open the airlock doors so your Captain Kirk Kreon figure can do a space dive in "outer space."

Micro-build USS Enterprise

Use the 39 pieces to build a U.S.S. Enterprise spaceship. This incredible set features Lighttech technology, so parts of the ship glow for extra-amazing Star Trek action!

Micro-build USS Kelvin

Use the 34 pieces to build a U.S.S. Kelvin spaceship. This incredible set features Lighttech technology, so parts of the ship glow for extra-amazing Star Trek action!

Micro-build Klingon D7 battle cruiser

Use the 39 pieces to build a Klingon D7 Battle Cruiser spaceship. This incredible set features Lighttech technology, so parts of the ship glow for extra-amazing Star Trek action!

Micro-build Jellyfish

Use the 42 pieces to build a Jellyfish spaceship. This incredible set features Lighttech technology, so parts of the ship glow for extra-amazing Star Trek action!

Amazon do not currently have listing for the Kreon figures, but Entertainment Earth do, offering the option to either buy a full case of the blind bags, or perhaps more appealingly (unless you plan on building armies), a full set of the six figures in series one. It's not clear is Hasbro are actually releasing the set of six as an easy to find single item, or if this is something Entertainment Earth have decided to do, similar to them offering the four micro-build ships as a single purchase. No new images of the kreons yet, so here's the only offical image of them so far released:

Finally, don't forget if you pre-order Star Trek: The Video Game from Game Stop you can get a bonus Kre-O micro-build USS Enterprise. The first prime reality set we've seen so far - Prime-Kreons are expected later in the year.
