First details for A Ceremony of Losses

David Mack has blogged the first details of his contribution to The Fall, the 24th century crossover miniseries coming at the end of the year. Here's what he had to say about his book, A Ceremony of Losses:
It will feature characters from the Star Trek: Deep Space Nine series, including Doctor Julian Bashir on the new-and-improved DS9 station, and Captain Ezri Dax and her crew aboard the U.S.S. Aventine. It will be a combination political-medical-military thriller that will have serious and lasting consequences for some of our continuing principal characters.

And, although this is subject to change, at the moment its opening sentence is, “There was so much blood.”
Elsewhere in the world of Trek lit, the latest episode of Trek FM's Literary Treks podcast featured an extensive interview with another The Fall author, Una McCormack. She reconfirmed her book, The Crimson Shadow, will feature Garak and Picard, and also mentioned it will be set on Cardassia. The interview focused mainly on her previous Star Trek books however, in particular her latest, the Typhon Pact novel, Brinkmanship, which was discussed in impressive detail!

Also... As Keith R.A. DeCandido so subtly pointed out in the comments below, since the last time I mentioned Literary Treks there was another episode which I didn't get round to mentioning anywhere. The feature interview in that episode was with... Keith R.A. DeCandido! Sadly no new Trek coming from him any time soon, but as one of the most prolific Trek writers he still had plenty to talk about! I particularly enjoyed the discussion on Articles of the Federation, and the enduring presence of Nanietta Bacco in Trek lit.

Yes, there's a new LITERARY TREKS with Una, and there were ones with Kirsten and Dayton, as you mentioned in previous blogs. There was another between them that you neglected to mention. *cough cough*

*ahem* Whoops! *goes and stands in the naughty corner*

I did listen to it, promise! Guess it slipped my mind on the sharing it bit. Amendment on the way!

I don't know whether to be flattered or alarmed that you kept tabs on that!

There we go. Special plug for one of my favourite Trek novels too!

I didn't keep tabs, but when I saw you mention Una's podcast, my first thought was, "Wait, I don't remember a note on my appearance." So I checked back, and the last time you mentioned LT was when Kirsten was on.

I was, of course, DEEPLY HURT!!!!!
