The Eternal Tide cover and...

StarTrek.com have released he cover for the next Voyager novel, the fourth in Kirsten Beyer's outstanding series of post-Destiny Delta Quadrant adventures, The Eternal Tide. The cover gives something of a suggestion, and StarTrek.com's description seems to further hint at the exciting possibility:
...the Voyager fleet continues its exploration of the Delta Quadrant, investigating the status of sectors formerly controlled by the Borg. During this critical mission, one of Starfleet’s own – a respected and acclaimed officer – returns, with the fate of the galaxy hanging in the balance.

Can. Not. Wait.

No no no! The fact that the novels had the balls to kill Janeway was epic! I mean, we all knew she'd be back sooner or later but I was hoping for later. Much, much later.

I agree with Korrd. Actually, I'd be fine if they never brought her back. I am not a huge Janeway fan anyway, and besides, to revive her seems like a cop-out. Unless they want to kill her off for real, without a Q jumping in and providing a loophole whereby she might return. Not to sound harsh, but I kind of feel like her death was the price she had to pay for messing with history in the series finale.

It was kinda obvious that Eden was just a temporary Captain of Voyager anyway. Her storyline is edging towards her leaving... or at least it seems that way.

I'm thrilled to have Janeway back in the series!
